Epcot 1993 – Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival
Although 1993 marked the last year the park would be called
Epcot Center, it also marked the beginning of something very beautiful indeed,
the Epcot International Flower and Garden Festival. It only makes sense that Epcot, a place of forward
thinking and utopian ideals, would create something as fabulous as the Flower
and Garden Festival.
In Walt Disney’s original EPCOT designs, gardens and parks
played the crucial function of general beautification as well as recreational
environments. Experimental Prototype
Community of Tomorrow never developed in the manner that Walt had
anticipated, but the Flower and Garden Festivals definitely fulfill the role of
beautification and recreation.
People attend the Epcot International Flower and Garden
Festival in order to be uplifted and enlightened. The Disney character based
topiaries uplift the spirit while the educational gardening information about
the creation and maintenance of such beautiful grounds enlighten the mind.
