Did You Know...Country Bear Jamboree

The Country Bear Jamboree opened at Walt Disney World's Magic Kingdom on Oct. 1, 1971. This attraction's popularity became even more widespread with the opening of two new Country Bear theaters in Disneyland's Critter County in 1972 and then again in 1983 with the show's opening in Tokyo Disneyland's Westernland.

The Country Bears even had holiday themed shows; the Country Bear Christmas Special in Florida from 1984 to 2005, the Country Bear Christmas Special in California from 1984 to 2001 and the Jingle Bell Jamboree in Tokyo in 1988.

These loveable bears even had their own movie in 2002.

Did you know that the Country Bears attraction was originally designed to be a dinner show for Disney's Mineral King Ski Resort? The Resort project was stopped due to complaints by preservationists in the 1960s and the Country Bear Jamboree was moved to Walt Disney World.
