Did You Know...Kali River Rapids
On a hot day at Animal Kingdom, the best way to cool off is to participate in a rafting expedition on the Chakranadi River. Kali River Rapids was Disney's first ever attempt at a river rafting ride. In February 2001, Grizzly River Run opened in Disney's California Adventure Park as the California counterpart.
Kali Rapids Expeditions have been offering continuous trips that are scenic, adventurous, and eye opening in regards to environmental conservation since March 1999.
Everyone who rides on one of these rafts will experience varying degrees of wetness, from damp to drenched.
When you reach the end of the ride and you think you are as wet as you are going to get, watch out for playful elephants.
If you would like to ride, but you are not a fan of wet clothes, be sure to bring a poncho. The kiosks located near the ride sell ponchos. Disney also provides a kiosk that sells towels located near the ride exit, because the ponchos can not guarantee complete waterproof protection.
