Did You Know...Space Mountain

Space Mountain is an international sensation. If  you love roller coasters and starry nights, this is the ride for you.

The original is located at Walt Disney World in Tomorrowland. Walt Disney saw the success of Disneyland's Matterhorn and wanted to create more thrill rides for Disney guests. Thus we have the beginning of the famous Disney "Mountains."

Space Mountain opened in 1975 and was duplicated for Disneyland, which opened in 1977. Tokyo Disneyland, Disneyland Paris, and Shanghai Disneyland (opening 2016) all included Space Mountain from their earliest conceptions.
