Did You Know...Twilight Zone Tower of Terror

Did you know that Walt Disney World hosts only 1 of 4 Twilight Zone Tower of Terror rides? Twilight Zone Tower of Terror can also be found at Disney California Adventure, Tokyo DisneySea, and Walt Disney Studios Park. But according to a poll hosted by Theme Park Insider, our very own Walt Disney World version ranks best.

Tower of Terror was based off of the Hollywood Tower Apartments, built in 1929. The apartments were popular with the early Hollywood elite. Combining a piece of Hollywood history and the imaginative power of the Twilight Zone, a popular TV series of the 1950s and 1960s, gave Hollywood Studios the glamor of early American Royalty and a story worthy of a thrill ride. Walt Disney World's Twilight Zone Tower of Terror opened on July 13, 1994 and has enjoyed continuous popularity and success. The ride was then replicated for other Disney Parks starting in 2004.
